Rainforest Alliance is an international non-governmental organization (NGO) with the objective published works to conserve biodiversity and ensure sustainable livelihoods by transforming land use practices corporate and consumer behavior. It is often criticized for greenwashing products and companies that do significant damage to the rainforest. It is based in New York and has offices throughout the United States and around the world. Conservation NGO was founded in 1987 by Daniel Katz (environmental activist) who are still involved in the organization. The daily management is ensured by its president, surfactants Whelan.
