Wild Farm Alliance (WFA) is a non-profit organization, which aims to increase diversity by expanding the idea and practice of natural agriculture.
Anchored in Watsonville, the heart of central California farmland were WFA founded in 2000 and was a participant in the movement for sustainable agriculture. With twelve directors and a panel of advisors, including the infamous agrarian Wendell Berry (Wild Farm Alliance-2006) Wild Farm Alliance is composed of agricultural information from across the country. In addition, this group of agricultural experts who participate in educational meetings and conferences that promote the conservation and sustainable agriculture, and the form and implement the practices and beliefs of the WFA. The Wild Farm Alliance is also responsible for promoting the conservation of private and public incentives that compensate farmers for their management efforts. Proponents of organic farming argue that WFA organic (when done right) is an excellent model for farmers, but organic farming should also include the expansion and preservation of nature on the farm (Sullivan-2006.
) Since 37% of land devoted to agriculture, WFA believes that agricultural land should be the first field of wildlife conservation (International Federation of Organic 2002.)
Such as eco-funds and part of the school management, DRE's mission is "to promote agriculture that helps protect and restore wild nature" (Wild Farm Alliance-2006.) In addition, imagine a world " in the community, ecologically managed farms and ranches seamlessly integrate into landscapes that accommodate a wide range of native species and ecological processes "(Alliance, 2006 Farm Wild.) reiterating these ideas, WFA defines sustainable agriculture biodiversity conservation, and the interconnection between nature, community, and farm.
