The Group is a Cape Town South African ecology of radical environmental group founded in 1987 as a "child of Koeberg Alert," and active until the early 1990s. Co-organized the first conference in South Africa on the environment [2], in collaboration with the Western Cape in the World Conference on Religion and Peace and the call to Islam in 1991. The National Conference on Environment and Development was held at the University of Western Cape and about 231 representatives from a wide range of organizations discussed the links between environmental degradation and political situation in South Africa. The three-day conference aimed at "environmental policy, ecology politicized" and was considered a breakthrough for its time.
