Clean Ocean Foundation

Clean Ocean Foundation is an environmental organization dedicated to the closure of the sewage of the sea in Victoria (Australia). It 'was formed in 2000, surfers who have upset a high level of pollution Mornington Peninsula surf beaches as Gunnamatta.

The Foundation has been at the forefront of a campaign to close the Gunnamatta Outfall pipeline in South East beach, where partially treated sewage deposits from the city of Melbourne, sent to the Eastern Treatment Plant to maintain Melbourne Water . This has proven to be successful and the eastern treatment plant is planned to update the standard class treatment by 2012. This victory, the Foundation is now working for the recycling of all waste water from 144 outfalls around Australia.

The Foundation has also successfully lobbied the NHMRC guidelines for recreational water Australian who rose to match the criteria of the World Health Organization.
