Friends of Nature (abbreviation: FON, 自然之友 Chinese, pinyin: Ziran zhi you) is the People's Republic of China environmental non-governmental old. On March 31, 1994, the organization was officially registered with the name of Green Culture Institute of the International Academy of Chinese Culture in the Ministry of Civil Affairs. The main objectives are advocacy groups for the protection of the environment (for example, save endangered species, recycling, energy conservation, etc) through workshops, field trips and teacher training. Furthermore, FON has been instrumental in the development of environmental non-governmental organizations and student groups throughout China, and NGOs in China are technically prohibited from establishing branches
