Association for Environment Conscious Building (AECB)

Association for building environmentally conscious (AECB) is the first network of Green Building professionals in the UK. Composition of the AECB include local authorities, housing associations, contractors, architects, designers, consultants and manufacturers. Members share a "broad green vision", which is reflected in their approach to the design of buildings and their environment. The association was founded in 1989 "to educate the construction industry on the need to respect, protect, preserve and improve the environment."

The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) is the department responsible for environmental protection, food production and standards, agriculture, fisheries and rural communities in the UK. Statements concordats framework agreement for cooperation between it and the Scottish Government,  Office of the National Assembly for Wales  and representatives of the Assembly of Northern Ireland , which assigned responsibilities these issues in their respective nations. DEFRA also leads Britain to the EU in agriculture, fisheries and environment and other international negotiations on sustainable development and climate change, even if a new Department of Energy and Climate Change was created October 3, 2008 to assume the ultimate responsibility.
