Food and Agriculture Organization

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO, or ONUAA for French: Organisation des Nations Unies pour l’alimentation et l’agriculture) is a specialised agency of the United Nations that leads international efforts to defeat hunger. Serving both developed and developing countries, FAO acts as a neutral forum where all nations meet as equals to negotiate agreements and debate policy. FAO is also a source of knowledge and information, and helps developing countries and countries in transition modernise and improve agriculture, forestry and fisheries practices, ensuring good nutrition and food security for all. Its Latin motto, fiat panis, translates into English as "let there be bread". As of 8 August 2008, FAO has 191 members states along with the European Union, Faroe Islands and Tokelau which are associate members. It is also a member of the United Nations Development Group.

Wildlife Committee (legal name desert western Canada Committee) is an environmental education nonprofit dedicated to the protection of natural areas of Canada and the species. Paul George, director and founder, created the Wilderness Committee in the province of British Columbia (BC) in 1980. Now employs over 30,000 people, based in Vancouver and field offices in Victoria (BC), Manitoba (MB) and Toronto (ON).

Paul George, director and founder, published a history of the organization: large trees, large strains.

The Society for the Preservation of Wild Culture or S.P.W.C.,

Association for Conservation of Cultural wild SPWC was a Toronto arts organization in existence from 1986 to 1991, which explored the environmental and ecological issues in an artistic perspective, and an "eccentric and innovative" way.  SPWC was best known for three programs: an influential literary journal, the Journal of Wild Culture, artist-guided walks, "reading the landscape" and a series of cabarets, cafes in the wild culture.

The organization was a unique hybrid. The oxymoron "savage culture" twisted comparing various types of interests:. Artists, scientists and activists, to name a few, in fact, the organization has been adopted both as an arts organization for artists and an environmental organization Environmentalists .

Regenesis (non-profit organization)

ReGenesis is the environment and social justice activist group based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in 2007, a number of student activists such as Claudia Rodriguez, and Mike Kenny. The group has chapters on campuses across Canada.
The group members had to stand for parliamentary elections of 2008 in Canada for young people get into a local university in various campuses across Canada.

Manitoba Eco-Network is an environment, NGO and charity office in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada,  Canada. It is a regional branch of the Canadian Environmental Network, which is based in Ottawa. Manitoba Eco-Network has about 50 environmental NGOs (ENGO is) throughout the province of Manitoba.  has been the goal Manitoba Eco-Network is to "promote positive environmental action groups, connects people and communities." In practice, the Manitoba Eco-Network is trying to achieve this goal by providing services to its Member States, groups and the public indirectly, a number of projects.

Manitoba Eco-Network is not in the lobby, and is neutral, but some of its member groups are partisan organizations, and lobby the government or to participate in the negotiations of the government. Members of the Steering Committee elected at the General Assembly and composed of representatives of member groups and one or two individual members. Funded by the Government of Manitoba, the Canadian government, foundations and funding agencies, membership fees, donations, and through fundraising events.

Earth Liberation Army (ELA)

Earth Liberation Army (ELA), which is the Front for the Liberation of the Earth (ELF) is the collective name for anonymous and autonomous individuals or groups that use "economic sabotage and guerrilla warfare to stop the operation and destruction of the natural environment " commonly known as stemming or monkeywrenching. The name was first used in Canada in 1995, which was the action of Earth First direct release in North America , three years after the ELF was founded in England.  ELA is a movement without a leader, but unlike the ELF, was the first group has not published guidelines. David Suzuki Foundation is an environmental organization based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada is' a non-profit organization, which is integrated in both Canada and the United States, and is funded by more than 40,000 donors. The Foundation describes its goal, that:

Its origins date back to 1989 a "think tank" retreat on Pender Island, British Columbia, which was hosted by David Suzuki and Tara Cullis. This is a government registered Canadian charitable organization supported solely by the Foundation grants and donations. Canadian Environmental Network (RCEN) is an umbrella organization, non-governmental organizations (environmental groups) are located across Canada. This non-profit organization funded primarily by Environment Canada and will help facilitate networking and communications, environmental organizations, and coordinate participation in the negotiations with the government Engo. RCEN also serves to inform the public on important issues, and decision-making on the environment.
RCEN is an independent and impartial, which means it does not take positions on environmental issues, even if its members are doing. It 'was founded in 1977 and now connects more than 700 environmental organizations through the eleven regional networks. The Manitoba Eco-Network is an example of a provincial umbrella group of the network, who are members of only one province.

The Canadian Environmental Law Association (CELA) is a non-profit, public interest organization established in 1970 to use existing laws to protect the environment and to advocate environmental law reforms. It is also a free legal advisory clinic for the public, and will act at hearings and in courts on behalf of citizens or citizens’ groups who are otherwise unable to afford legal assistance. Funded by Legal Aid Ontario, CELA is one of 79 community legal clinics located across Ontario, 15 of which offer services in specialized areas of the law. CELA also undertakes additional educational and law reform projects funded by government and private foundations. CELA was established at the same time as its sister organization the Canadian Institute for Environmental Law and Policy, which does not offer Legal Aid services but focuses on policy related to emerging and neglected environmental issues.

Under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act (RS, 1999, C. 33), Environment Canada has become the lead department to ensure the cleanliness of the Federal hazardous waste and oil spills for which the government is responsible, and provide technical assistance to other jurisdictions in the private sector, if necessary. Department is also responsible for international environmental issues (eg, Canada and the U.S. air problems).
