North American Native Fishes Association (NANFA)

North American Native Fish Association (NANFA) is a nonprofit, tax-exempt U.S. corporation serves to bring together amateur and professional aquarists, fishermen, fisheries biologists, aquarists, managers of fish and wildlife, educators and naturalists who share an interest in the conservation breeding, research and captive native fish North America.

NANFA publishes the quarterly flow of articles of the American collection, storage, detection, storage and processing of fish in North America. It also organizes meetings and travel, which members can discuss and (legally and responsibly), to collect native fish, remove exotic fish, and to maintain or restore natural habitats. Annual convention lectures, collecting trips, visits to the Museum of Natural History, public aquariums and zoos. NANFA is also funding the Conservation Biology Research Grant, research, and endangered fish, and Gerald C. Corcoran Education grant for educational programs to raise awareness to the general public.

NANFA was founded in 1972.
