Xerces Society

The Xerces Society is an environmental organization that focuses on invertebrates that are important for biodiversity. The name is in honor of the dead butterfly in California, Xerces Blue.

The Xerces Society is an international nonprofit that advocates for invertebrates and their habitats, working with scientists, land managers, educators and citizens on conservation projects and education. Core programs focus on endangered species, native pollinators, and health of the watershed.

In November 2008, the Xerces Society has launched a redesigned site in www.xerces.org.
