Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS)


The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) was founded in 1895 as the Zoological Society of New York (NYZS) and is based at the Bronx Zoo.

Since 2010, the Wildlife Conservation Society manages 200 million acres (810,000 km2) protected countries around the world, over 500 field conservation projects in 60 countries and 200 staff scientists. In addition, a five facilities in New York: the Bronx Zoo, Central Park Zoo, the New York Aquarium, Prospect Park Zoo Queens Zoo with Welcome to the over 4 million visitors a year.  All New York City, the structures of the United States are accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA).
