The Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (in Spanish:'''Department of the Environment and Natural Resources, SEMARNAT) is environment minister of Mexico. Head, Environment Secretary, is a member of the federal executive cabinet and is appointed by the President of the Republic. As of 2008 [update] appointed Secretary for the Environment in the cabinet of President Felipe Calderon, Juan Rafael Elvira Quesada, who was in the position since December 1, 2006.
Secretariat is responsible for the mission to protect, restore and conserve ecosystems, natural resources, environmental goods and services in Mexico in order to promote sustainable development.
