ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability

 ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability is an international association of local and national governments and regional and local non-governmental organizations that have made a commitment to sustainable development. More than 1,200 cities, counties and their organizations in 70 countries include increasing membership of ICLEI. ICLEI works with these and hundreds of other local governments through international performance-based, results-oriented campaigns and programs. It provides technical advice, training and information to enhance knowledge sharing and support the capacity of local authorities to implement sustainable development at local level. ICLEI is the starting point is that locally designed initiatives can provide an effective and efficient way to achieve the objectives of sustainability locally, nationally and globally.
